11.1+ Crashes on Launch (Windows 7) x32/x64 [SOLVED]

Post by chriscisco »

Hey,

So I am having an issue where 11.1+ crashes on my computer when starting up the game.

What happens is the loading takes place, it gets to 89% then both of my dual monitor screens go black, in the same manner as when you install a graphics driver. The screen will remain black for a fairly long period of time and then the screen will return but the computer will be completely frozen requiring a reset.

I have checked my graphics driver and it is the latest.

The log file is pretty sparse, I have provided a DxDiag as well.

11.3 Log

x64 DxDiag

If I am forgetting any information, I will provide it, I am going to look a little further into the issue myself as well.

[UPDATE]

I cleared my windows logs and then ran the game to force a crash.

My Display driver definitely crashes when launching the game, I also get a windows error reporting event 2 seconds later which reads as follows

[UPDATE]

On a whim I decided to disable Actual Multiple Monitors and the game now loads, so something in 11.1+ conflicts with AMM and crashes a crash, for the moment I can just turn it off while I play the game but it should definitely be looked at in the future.

[UPDATE - Day 2]

I started my computer in the morning, turned off AMM and started the game and it crashed again on the loading screen, last night I was able to play for hours no problems.

[UPDATE - 3]
So after not worrying about it for a week and living with it, I started to write some small mods for the game and testing them became a pain, so I dug deeper into the problem and ended up flashing my BIOS, the game now starts past all the basic tests I had in place, I also ran Microsoft Fix It, but that did not solve the problem, it may have combined with the BIOS flash.

I am going to call this SOLVED now.
