Insert crafting jobs at front of queue

Post by jknielse »

I'm wondering if there's any way to push new crafting jobs to the front of the queue. I think we've all had times when we have very long jobs queued up for our player to craft, but we just want to put a repair kit, or conveyor belt in front of whatever we're currently waiting on. Is there any way to do this other than to painstakingly remove all of the build jobs and add them back afterwards?

I'm not trying to be a smartass here, but I think the proper solution is to use an assembler. I think player crafting is intended to be inconvenient and used as a last resort.

Fair enough. I find that pre-logistics phase to be a bit painful, but okay.

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

That's my impression as well. That the designers deliberately made manual crafting difficult and cumbersome, because you're not meant to use it more than a very few times, early in the game.

They certainly could have made it much more so, though.

My impression is particularly supported by the fact that Science Pack 2, the green ones, requires Standard Belts and Electric Inserters. Those two items are massively required when adding to one's factory, and clearly the intent is to strongly discourage manual crafting of Green Packs.
