1.1.x Removes 1.0.0 Connections Between Ghost Power Units

Post by bcwhite »

I have a sandbox with a number of fairly large blueprints laid out as ghost builds, created under v1.0.0. If I encounter a problem with these designs during play, I'll fix the ghost layouts and capture new blueprints from them.

With the upgrade to v1.1.5 (now 1.1.6), all of the connections between my ghost power units have been dropped. When I create a new blueprint from these ghosts, the constructed blueprints do not have wires between the parts. Every pole is independent and power doesn't flow between them to factory units.

If I destruct the ghost and place the pole/substation anew, it connects with wire but of course loses any circuit connection that was present on the ghost.

It's going to be a lot of effort (with likely a few mistakes) to rebuild the power grid on all these designs.

Here's my method of fixing my blueprints:

1) Make sure the blueprint matches the ghost factory.
2) Destroy the ghost factory. Ensure no "realized" entities remain.
3) Place the broken blueprint.
4) Use a destruction planner to remove poles and substations.
5) Undo!
6) Capture a new blueprint.

The "undo" causes all the power components to reconnect and also restores any circuit connections that were there.

Another option to save you future headache is to store your design as a actual factories rather than ghost. Use the /editor command to make copy pasting actual factories as convenient as copying ghost in normal circumstances.
