Unexpected content in Info.plist [1.0.0]

I have version [1.0.0] installed.

When starting factorio, i get notified that new update exist:
"core-mac" "Installed: 1.0.0", "New version: 1.1.1"

I click "Update now"

After download finishes, the update is aborted with the following message:

"Notice
Update failed: Checking update packages failed: File /Applications/factorio.app/Contents/data/../Info.plist has unexpected content"

It does not specify exactly what information in that file is unexpected. I only have the option to close the notice by clicking "Confirm" and no update is performed.

Same thing happens if i manually click "About" > "Check for updates" > "Update now". Restarting does not help.
