It would also make clearing out duplicates much much easier, as I could just list all the relevant blueprints and easily mouse over them to see which ones are too similar, or if I have some with a recipe set and some without.

Search within blueprints
At this point I've played this game for enough time that I have quite a few blueprints built up, and I am missing the possibility to search for the individual components within them. For example, I can name my blueprint something useful, but let's say for example I have ten different setups that use Chemical Plants - I sure would like being able to list them all by searching for "Chemical Plant", rather than whatever I named the blueprint at the time - IF I named it at all!
It would also make clearing out duplicates much much easier, as I could just list all the relevant blueprints and easily mouse over them to see which ones are too similar, or if I have some with a recipe set and some without.

Re: Search within blueprints
are you putting the blueprints in books? you could name the book "chemical plant blueprints" and put all the similar ones in one place.

Re: Search within blueprints
That's absolutely one way to work on it, I just find that it would be a lot easier to list by content - that way, if I make, say, a combination of ChemPlants and Assembly Machines, I wouldn't have to choose which one to put it in. I could put it in both, of course, but you get my point
Less overall hassle to be able to search immediately, I think.
