Unplayable graphics glitches with Factorio Demo in Ubuntu

Hey All,

I just installed the Demo in Steam. It launches to the game just fine, however there are some pretty unplayable graphical glitches.

They start with the loading bar as the game loads, then will carry on in all the menus, and then throughout everything if I actually load up a game.

I've tried various combinations of launch options from the Solving common graphic issues thread, and have basically turned every graphics setting on/off and every slider up/down in the graphics settings, none of which have made a difference.

Hardware is:

CPU: i7-4770
GPU: RX-480 8GB
RAM: 2x8GB 1600MHz DDR3
SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB

Running in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 64-bit.

Drivers are all up to date, and I don't get graphical glitches in any of the other games I've tried (Civ 5, Elite Dangerous, Firewatch, Prison Architect etc.).

Any suggestions on troubleshooting from here?
