Pollution clouds /Smog

It would be nice if you could add pollution clouds. :D I use a mod which add pollution clouds but there are some disadvantages like sharp edges etc.

How does a pollution cloud look like in Factorio? Because this could be too easily mixed up with the pollution cloud, displayed in alt-mode in map-view.

Maybe just make areas with high pollution permanently dark as if it was at night? It could force the player to make more use of lamps.

Then you would want to decrease solar efficiency under these clouds. That would be a problem.

there are two smog mods - maybe this is what you seek ?

I use one of them "Smog: Visual Pollution" but it has only a layer system, which is the same as the map pollution, so you have a lot visible of sharp edges.
That`s why I wrote my suggestion here.

There is no way to make smooth gradient in Lua Rendering.
