I am playing mid-game and I have reached engines. my offshore pump became an advanced water pump but it will not take fluid from a lake. I think this is a bug if not it is something I lack knowledge of. I would really appreciate the help

Hello, I'm facing the same problem and it seems that it's a bug and I'm not able to find any solution too.

It’s not a bug. There are two kinds of pumps in the game. The offshore pump takes water from lakes and the other pump moves liquids in pipes and tanks.

[Koub] Moved to Gameplay help
The pump (in the logistics tab) only allows to force flow between pipes, tanks or crafting machines. The Offshore pump (in the production tab) can only be built on a shoreline, and only extract water from a lake.
