Multiplayer unplayable character delays

Multiplayer unplayable character delays

I've been playing some Factorio with a friend after 1.0 dropped, went fine the first couple days, but today we've met a brick wall. The game becomes literaly unplayable for the one that is joining the other. What happens is that the host will be playing fine and the one that joins can't do anything, or with such a delay its not even worht bothering (up to 20 seconds delay at times!)
We can succesfully play other games together without issue so our conection to eachother is not a problem. Looking around i can't find anyone else with the same issue and i'm at my wits end, i have no idea what could be going wrong.

The latency ramps up while the update times are fine so this is likely a network issue, make sure everyone is connected via cable not wireless and no big up/downloads are happening. You could try connecting directly without steam connect to rule out a steam issue.
