Mod Folders

Post by JokersBullet12 »

TL;DR
The Mods menu is a bit unorganized, having Windows/Winrar like folders would help a bit.

What ?
I believe the manage tab for mods could receive an upgrade:
The ability to make folders to better organize your mods.

Instead of having this

you could have something like this.

Why ?
This could help people make sure they have all mods enabled for a specific world instead of loading in and getting a message warning them about missing mods/items.
In general, this idea would help people organize their mods.

Sorry if this suggestion should have been sent to another forum.

I’m relatively sure, this will not come, because that clashes with the import-logic of LUA.

We can achieve the same with a tagging system.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

But people already put their saves in folders and it works? Wouldn’t it just be a ui change?

No. Well. Uhm. Only UI?! Hm. Of course! I was to fixated on putting mods in real subdirectories.

Hm.

Mods should be displayed in categories. That is possible by tagging. For the first implementation I would add tags, which are just taken from the categories in which the mod developer has categorized his mod. Players can then add own tags.

I would still prefer alphabetical sorting.

(And I still think much more important would be to switch between sets of mods in different versions.)
