When you have a large number of ghost items (say to place landfill or concrete) a Spidertron directed by remote with roboports, bots, charge, and inventory in Trunk will only sporadically/inconsistently send construction bots to place items on top of ghosts. "sporadically/inconsistently" meaning that sometimes it will not send bots for seconds or tens of seconds at a time while standing next to hundreds of potential ghosts, and even then only sends a few bots to random ghosts in short bursts.
This is not how it acts if there is a present gunner, in which case it sends out bots as soon as the ghosts come into roboport range and continues until all reachable ghosts are placed. (This is with just the player being present and onboard, not with any roboports or inventory himself.) It seems to be related to the presence of the gunner rather than the remote itself, because a Spidertron guided by remote but containing a gunner (that just isn't pressing WASD) also sends out bots like normal.
Construction bots in spidertron with no gunner aren't scheduled reliably
Re: Construction bots in spidertron with no gunner aren't scheduled reliably
Not a Bug.
The game only attempts to dispatch a few construction bots each tick. So if you have 1000 ghosts it will take about 16 seconds to loop through the entire queue. This is an optimisation to prevent large construction queues from bogging the game down.
