Time to get out of alpha maybe ? :)
Moderator: ickputzdirwech
Download links & Mac dmg and Linux xz files still called "alpha"
On the download page: https://factorio.com/download
When you hover over the download links, they look like:
- https://factorio.com/get-download/1.0.0 ... n64-manual
- https://factorio.com/get-download/1.0.0/alpha/win64
- https://factorio.com/get-download/1.0.0/alpha/osx
- https://factorio.com/get-download/1.0.0/alpha/linux64
- https://factorio.com/get-download/1.0.0 ... ss/linux64
So for all except the headless download, there is still "alpha" in the download link.
Futhermore, the Mac and Linux file names also still have "alpha" in them:
- Mac: factorio_alpha_1.0.0.dmg
- Linux: factorio_alpha_x64_1.0.0.tar.xz
I would expect the "alpha" to not be there any more, since it's now a full release.

Re: Time to get out of alpha maybe ? :)
Shouldn't it have been beta for the last years?

Oh I forgot to tell the screenshot is from the zip version on Factorio website. On Steam, it's not labelled as alpha any more.

Unfortunatelly, many years ago, this string became indicator of a build, not a development stage ... the strings are "steam", "demo", "steamdemo", "headless" and "alpha". So it was never labelled as "alpha" on Steam. And unfortunatelly the strings are baked into too many things for anyone to be brave to start messing with it before the big release. Out of shame I hid the "alpha" part in the main menu, but file names and URLs won't change anytime soon.
Re: Time to get out of alpha maybe ? :)
Posila's last answer was indeed implemented for 1.1.0, so it can be considered "implemented". However, the filenames and URLs still contain the term "alpha", for compatibility reasons apparently.

[Koub] That's good enough for me. Moved to implemented.
