Hey guys.
Yesterday I installed Factorio[0.18.35], and then I hosted a LAN server through the game menu to play with a friend. While playing, the game stutters every ~15 seconds, and after 2~5 seconds with the game locked up, it returns to normal. While locked up, I can still see the game, move my mouse, hear game sounds, but I can't move or do anything on the game (like opening the pause menu). Today I installed different drivers for my GPU to see if that was the problem, but didn't work. So, I tried returning to the latest stable Factorio version[0.17.79], and I experienced no stutters at all. I installed then [0.18.25] and the stutter issue began again. Then, I uninstalled the game and reinstalled [0.18.35] and took log files and prints to post here. Here are my system configs:
Ryzen 7 2700
8x2GB RAM 2666MHz
MSI B450 Tomahawk
XFX RX580 8GB XXX
Corsair CX750 80plus Bronze
And here, prints before and after the stutter:
Here are the mods folder, save folder and log file:
Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: [0.18.35] Game Stutters every ~15 seconds
Hello, based on the timings, the spikes happen in something that ususally doesn't take any meaningful amout of time so we don't even measure it.
It could be processing of windows message loop, Steam integration update loop, Logitech LED integration update loop, or something else.
Do you have any uncommon peripherals (joysticks, gamepads, etc.) ? Also does it happen only in multiplayer and when hosting? Does it keep happening after your restart your computer?
To rule things out, could you try to disable Logitech LED integration in Other settings and restart the game?
If that doesn't do anything, could you download standalone version of the game from factorio.com (even demo should suffice I think https://www.factorio.com/get-download/0 ... n64-manual) to so we can rule out it being caused by Steam integration?
- We did update Steam API version in between 0.17.79 and 0.18.25
To determine what might be causing the freezes, it might be helpful to profile the game while freezes are happenning. Could you please download and install CPU profiler Very Sleepy. It's free and very light weight (just 4 MB download). Run it, then launch Factorio and reproduce the issue.

- When the freezes start to happen Alt+Tab to Very Sleepy, click Refresh so it updates list of running processes and then find and select factorio.exe in the list (you may want to sort the list by name, to find it better).
- Check "Profile for set time(s)". You can leave it at 100 sec, or maybe reduce it to 60. If it happens every 15 seconds, the profiler should see couple of them in that time.
- Then click on Profile All
- As it starts capturing for given time interval (it'll show dialog with progress bar), Alt+Tab back to Factorio to make sure freezes are still happening in that time.
- After 2 minutes Alt+Tab back to Very Sleepy, it should be finished with capture; Use "Save as" in File menu to save it to the file and post it here

Re: [0.18.35] Game Stutters every ~15 seconds
I had already tried restarting the PC, but that didn't work. I closed Logitech G Hub, since I do own a Logitech mouse and a Logitech Wheel (that was not connected at any time while playing factorio), but the stuttering was still there. However, when I downloaded the non-steam(full version windows .zip [0.18.35]) there were no sutters at all. The frametime graph on MSI Afterburner was a straight line, with no variation at all. I didn't download Very Sleepy, since the problem is probably the Steam integration thing. Also, Steam and Logitech G Hub were open on the background while testing the non-steam version. So, is there something I can do to play Factorio on Steam without stutters right now? Or I have to wait for an update?
Re: [0.18.35] Game Stutters every ~15 seconds
Last time somebody had similar issue (Steam API freezing), they found out it was caused by some kind of 8 bit game controller they had plugged into their computer. Maybe Very Sleepy capture would help to narrow down what is causing this, but this might not be good way to diagnose it, as we don't have debug symbols for Steam side of things, so I might not be able to see what Steam it frozen on.
What version of the Steam Client do you have? Steam -> Help -> About Steam
Do you use beta of the client?

Re: [0.18.35] Game Stutters every ~15 seconds
Now that was unexpected hahaha. I do have an 8bitdo controller adapter plugged into my PC, but there was no controller connected to it. But and as soon as I removed it, the game ran just fine on Steam. That would be the last thing I would try to do. Thanks for your help, and have a nice day!

Ah, that's good news!
Which one do you have? https://www.8bitdo.com/#Products
I'll try to report it to Steam support and/or ask 8BitDo people about it.
EDIT: I guess only this one is usable with PC? https://www.8bitdo.com/wireless-usb-adapter/
