We save VRAM by using some of the same animation frames but flipped

This seems like a bug. Flipped animation frames or not, there was never an orange tank on the player to begin with, so why does it appear when mining?

There is no second tank, the left part of his back is just more in shadow on the top picture than on the bottom one. You can see stripes, seams and the hose in both pictures in the same locations, just the coloring is darker/more gray at the characters back in the top picture.
