[0.11.1][qebrow] Can't use modules in Electric Furnace

I've tried to insert Productivity, Speed and Efficiency modules in to Electric Furnace module slots, but got message that I can't insert it there. This is as it should be?

I've "fixed" it pretty easily by adding line:

allowed_effects = {"consumption", "speed", "productivity", "pollution"},

after 4000th line in the entities.lua, just right after:

Code: Select all

module_slots = 2,

Strange part, that Electric Drill and Oil Pump don't have this line, but can use all modules without any problem.

I have same issue - in Electric Furnace build before 0.11.1 modules works - when i remove them and try to insert one more time I get error it can't be used in Electric Furnace
in Electric Furnace bulid after 0.11.1 I am not able to insert any modules.

WarStalkeR , can you provide more details about your fix ? - which file to edit ?

I can confirm issue.

11.1 do not allow electric furnace to use modules, I perfectly sure - this related to code merge of furnace and assembly machine.

Can't confirm. Successfully placed efficiency modules in my electric furnaces. Mind you, I did it by ctrl+clicking, so maybe it's the interface that's being wonky?

EDIT: Yep, confirmed. Ctrl+clicking to place modules still works, but trying to slot them in manually does not.

Same on my side - with ctrl + click it is working fine but when i try to insert them "standard" way then I have the error

i put them in my electric furnaces just fine, the normal way of just opening it up... thats really odd...

i am playing a fresh install of 11.1 with a map i started in 11.1

Thank you for the notice, it is fixed for 0.11.2 now.

I do think that energy saving modules should not be in electric furnaces. The reason being that the heat which is is used in an electric furnace is technically energy waste. So by reducing the energy waste with an energy saving module you would in reality be reducing the heat for the furnace, which would hamper production.

I would think of it as an improvement to the insulation, or reclamation of heat. Not necessarily less overall energy needed to smelt a particular item, but less energy exhausted to the environment - though that doesn't really go along with the increased pollution
