No Multiplayer in the free Demo ?

Hi, I would like to test this game with a friend, first with the free demo.
But the "Multiplayer" button is greyed-out.
It's confusing as we don't know if it's because of limitation in the Free Demo, or because something else is blocking this feature ?
Would be good to specify the reason in the UI.

So, is there multiplayer in the free demo ?
