Quickbar help

so Me and my group of friends have just started to get back into Factotio last time we played was like 2018 and we all prefer the toolbar form then and I am confused by why I can see a lot of people complaining about the new quick bar 0.17+ but there is no mod or setting to revert it to the old 0.16 toolbar would appreciate it if someone could fill me in on this like is there a reason like are the devs implementing something that stops modders form changing the toolbar if not I would appreciate it if someone could point me to a mod (if it exists) to info on how to make a mod that interacts/ reimplement the old toolbar

oh and for those of you that will say just get used to the new toolbar/ give me a reason why you don't like it / its arguably better etc my point is me and my group would prefer as we just plain don't like it we have less fun with the new toolbar that's it and at the end of the day we play the game to have fun if the new toolbar means that we won't have fun then either we fix it with a mod or we just don't play Factorio and I would prefer to just fix our one problem with the game

Thanks for trying to help but yes we know how to use it's we just don't enjoy it and would prefer to go back to what we do

Well, I think it's pretty unlikely they're going to take it back out now. Certainly you can revert to an earlier version where the quickbar isn't present. You can find old versions all the way back to 0.6.4 here:

i dont mind that the devs want to the new toolbar I just want to know if there is a mod out there to change it back or are the devs actively blocking such mods (I don't mind if I have to make my own id just have to learn how)
