As for now, at least for me, I don't have a Repair Pack in first slots of a "shortcut bar", so I'm manually selecting it with a mouse from far away slots. And Idk why, but I also always, intuitively using pipette tool on damaged entity, thinking that it will choose the repair pack, but it's just selecting the entity...
I believe it would be much better if you could select a Repair Pack by using pipette tool on damaged entity. You only need to get one quickly when something is damaged, and it would be a quick way to get it, and you don't have to have it in your "hot slots", or even in "shortcut bar" at all...
Pipette tool on damaged entity should select repair pack

It's also can suggest you wire on a power switch, but it's somewhat really rare case actually....

Your first hotbar should always contain repair packs and fish!
currently, the pipette feature is selecting the item wich builds the corresponding entity all the time (it gives a ghost if i don't have the item in my backpack).
-1 for making it sometimes behave differently.
If you want a QoL improvement for repairing things, get bots (may also be Nanobots: Early Bots).
