I have been trying to understand what effects steam engines have on steam flow. I have this arrangement:What did you do?
Leftmost infinity pipe supplies steam, rightmost infinity pipe is sink, big pole goes to 2MW load.
When pumps are powered on, steam engine is immediately filled up to 100 steam, but does not consume any. It's stuck at 100/200 level, and both pumps are working and pumping 6000 u/s. If rightmost pump is removed, it starts to work normally. What happened?
When both pumps are powered off, steam engine starts to work and consumes 100 steam at 30 u/s.
If steam engine is first filled up to 200 steam (with only leftmost pump working), then rightmost pump is turned on, steam engine will drain steam to 100, then stop.
I would expect steam engine to work regardless of whether rightmost pump is attached, and rightmost pump to draw 30 less u/s compared to leftmost pump. What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
