[0.18.6] Train stop spots not aligned with opposite direction's train stop

Post by Tikos »

I am Russian, so do not judge strictly for my English.

Previously, there was a topic of one bug (viewtopic.php?f=11&t=81035). It was partially fixed.

The other day I decided to continue my game after updating in the hope that the problem with the marking of trains was fixed. I planned a unloading station for a train consisting of two locomotives and four railway cars. However, when trying to synchronize two stations on the same line, the same problem occurred as in version 0.18.4. They don't sync.

There is one point that may possibly help.
In the interface settings, there is an option that is responsible for the length of the train in the markup. Below you will see screenshots showing the synchronization of two stations with the length of the train in: 3 railway cars, 4 railway cars, 5 railway cars and 6 railway cars.

I'll attach a log, a save, and a few screenshots for demonstration.

No idea what you mean, but the log shows you starting the game, not doing anything for a few minutes and then closing the game without crash.

I didn't play much, because I wanted to check the fix itself released in 0.18.5. Because of that bug, it's hard for me to continue playing. I just rearranged the two stations and watched the work of a markup.

There is no "crash" part in this bug report, topic is misleading. This topic only describes train spots alignment of train stop that is working as intended.

Hm... then I'll be back later. I'm pretty sure there's a problem.

I checked again.
The game didn't crash. I can't just sync two stations on the same line for a 6 railway cars train.
Attached updated logs, save and two screens. In the screenshots, I show that both stations do not synchronize the position of the train. When unloading, not all manipulators can work with a railway carriage.

That is not a bug. Train stops can be placed every 2 tiles. Trains with odd number of cargo wagons will have even length and will align, Trains with even number of cargo wagons will have odd length and so last rolling stock will not be aligned with opposite train stop.

You want to say that with an even number of cargo wagons, the stations will not be synchronized in any way. They can only be synchronized for odd numbers. For example 1, 3, 5 cargo wagons. In other words I can't make a station for 6 cargo wagons?

You can, but you will have only 5 spots per side that will be common for trains going in from either direction.

Thanks. I think I understand now. Sorry for the noise. The topic can be considered closed.
