Because they suck?

I guess that is option 4, or possibly option 2b - get rid of loaders from the mod completely and just recommend one of the existing 1x2 loader mods.

Even one express 1x2 loader is better than two best inserters. If someday the vanilla will have them, I want 1x3 loaders because of balance issue. They are too good for this small size.

Yup 0.18.3 looks to be a good fix for deadlock loaders .. my modified version and test save now work as expected.

Good to hear. 0.18 status:

1) There's still some issues where transport lines from migrated games will end up 'stuck' until they're touched to update them - if you're migrating a save with loaders, there seem to still be some outstanding issues - check that items are flowing, and recreate part of the belt line anywhere in a migrated save where stuff is stuck. viewtopic.php?p=476695#p476695

2) This initial 0.18 release is a quick fix (and important special thanks to billbo99 for testing on 0.18 and reporting the bugs there were) - we'll have a future update that changes the API in a hopefully-backward-compatible way for mipmapped and variable icons.

Posted the wrong thing in the last post.

Not sure what is causing this, or if it effects other buildings. However Angels Warehouses seem to have problems with loaders.

The loaders at the bottom of the building will randomly not work at all when placed. Image 003 it is the middle building.

This is on 0.17.79

I've tried rotating, and replacing them to no avail. If you look you can see the metal chute is getting stuck on the wrong side, rotating just changes the belt direction, not the chute.

You can't rotate loaders (nor underground belts, fyi) on ground, you need to place them with chute facing entity you want them load to/unload from and then rotate them to switch between loading/unloading. That's how loaders work.

Loaders can't be rotated once placed. The usual rotate key switches their input-output mode instead. That is the way the game engine has always handled loaders. If you want them to point the other way, they have to be picked up and replaced the right way round.

If you are saying that you are placing them the right way round and they are instead snapping to the loader on the other side, preferring it to the container, it may be a bug. We would need a full mod list - ideally a saved game so the mods can be synced - and detailed steps to reproduce.

The 'Stacking Beltbox' how do they work exactly. If I put iron plates manually into the first beltbox it outputs stacked plates. However the loader won't input them, and if I use an inserter to load them they won't output.

Again sorry I'm having such a hard time with this.

Loaders can't connect two inventories. They are inventory-to-belt or belt-to-inventory. Stuff has to go in or out of a belt at the belt end. An inventory or a machine with an input slot has to be at the non-belt end.

Hi,
Question on speed of the beltboxes.
In the description you mention "Each tier of beltbox can handle a fully compressed belt of the same tier."

But when I have an ultimate-tansport-belt, fully filled with stacked items, connected to an ultimate-transport-belt-beltbox, I cannot load three outgoing ultimate-transport-belt's. Made a local patch to increase the beltbox speed and it can handle it.

I don't know which mod adds support for "ultimate speed beltboxes" or even what an "ultimate-transport-belt" is. Maybe shane knows.

Bob's Logistics provides "ultimate transport belts" as the highest tier of belts, they are colored green. There is another mod, deadlock-integrations by shanemadden, that provides the integration of Stacking Beltboxes & Compact Loaders with Bob's Logistics, adding higher tiers of beltboxes and compact loaders. This probably what hreintke is talking about.
