Error to crash on launch (windows 10)[0.18.4]

[0.18.4] I purchased the game on the 6th and launched it, played an hour, went to bed. Waking up the next morning, (full shutdown) launching the game from steam launches a black screen into an error message saying "Error code:60", which then closes the black window, sending me back to steam. I can't find anything on the forums other than, "Factorio doesn't give error messages..." So it sounds like it's on my end. I've cleared all the caches I can, reinstalled the game and I'm still getting the same error.

Launch > Black screen *error sound* > Initialization error code: 60 > Crash

Error 60 is related to audio. What is causing it and how to fix it, I unfortunatelly don't know. You can workaround it by using launch option --disable-audio ... the game will start, but you won't have any sound.

(0.18.4 should show you Error 60, it should let you start the game and just show you error notice about failure to initialize audio device when main menu shows up. So I assume, despite the topic title, you actually have not opted into experimental 0.18 releases?)

I have not opted into 0.18, I went to recent updates and copy pasted, my bad. Still kinda new to the pc world.

I'll disable the audio tonight!

Also, I was about an hour into the tutorial, are there any important sound queues I would be missing out on when I disable the audio?
