Inserters and Warehouses are used instead of belts for conveyor production lines.
Simple balancing cobminators logic is used to balance warehouses so inserters do not overflow/overproduce and jam the lines.
There some places bots and belts are used to keep things looking nice and interesting. Bots for local fuel distribution and a belts for the standard mining setups.
