[0.17.68] Crash on start

Post by Z3d »

Hey,

on new PC on clean Win10 install, I've got crash on the latest experimental.
I can run the latest stable(Factorio_x64_0.16.51) without problem (getting ingame), but the experimental crashes before even getting into the menu.

It may very well be that I'm missing some driver or something, but the stable is running ok, so I'm not sure on what to do.

Thanks for the report. The log file shows this:
0.062 Initialised Direct3D[0]: Microsoft Basic Render Driver; id: 1414-008c; driver: d3d10warp.dll 10.0.15063.1155
That means that you don't have the driver installed for your video card. You'll want to install that :)

Moving to technical help.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

Thank you a lot, Rseding91. This did indeed solve my problem.

The only problem that remains is that there is a difference between Factorio stable and experimental requirements - because one of those I was able to run and the other threw errors. So you guys should add an additional requirement/prompt/whatever - if there is something in the new releases that actually requires the drivers.

As for me, I can play experimental now. Thank you a lot!
And see you around ingame everyone :D
