Can I ever go back? (Beta integration with new releases)

So I blithely decided to check out the 17.52 update and see what was on tap...


And 10 hours later and a few research chain tweaks and reresearching and completion of factories it stuck me...

Will these 10 hours be wasted when the game officially updated to 17.x? Should I go back to 16.x or whatever the latest official release is and redo the factory building at least?

I apologize if this common knowledge as I am an uncommon ignoramus.

The official update to 0.17 stable is simply renaming 0.17.52 (or whatever the last beta version is) to 0.17 stable.

So no need to go back, unless there is a 0.16 feature you like more.
