Heatmap for liquid levels

Post by svenar »

Hey there!

I don't know if there is already a mod for this, or if it has been disguised before.
But what if the map view has an extra option to view the fluid amount inside barrels.

Yes, but make it a "% full" and include pipes (or have pipes as an option).

Didn't someone want to remove temperature from liquids? Calculating temperature changes on liquid mixing is a pointless overheat to the fluid system with a few exceptions for steam where simply having different steam "liquids" would solve it better.

I think you need to reread the original question :P

I think you missed the point: If fluids don't have a temperature the question weather a heat map would be used makes no sense.

I might be wrong, but I think he meant "heatmap" as a term to indicate %full.

If that is what OP meant, there are a couple things that might be useful to keep in mind:

1) Fluid tanks tend to equalize to the same level. So, reading one tank in a set is probably "close enough".

2) I typically use 3 lamps as indicators of fluid level, set to light up when greater than 5k, 15k, 23k. Trivial to build and gives a pretty good idea of fullness at a glance.

And LOL... helping others sometimes helps yourself... I just noticed that crude oil constant combinator I used to ID the input pipe should have had an "I" instead of an "O".

Ahh, that makes more sense. So basically an alt version of the little window in tanks and pipes thats more visible.
