[0.17.43] Trains running through each other

Post by th0 »

Hello there,

I noticed that - under certain conditions - trains can run through each other without getting damaged. I found it difficult to reproduce, as sometimes this behavior occurs, while sometimes the train just takes damage (as I think it should). Please see the attached screenshot.

What I did to relatively reliably reproduce this:
* Have trains on an automated route
* Drive a train manually into a reserved intersection so that they will collide (I am aware this is not how you want to play Factorio).
* Sometimes, the automatic train will be able to run through the connection between individual waggons without taking damage or damaging the blocking train.

EDIT: Ah sorry, forgot:
Running on Win7 x64, Vanilla Factorio

This is not entirely obvious from my real-world understanding that railway cars are somehow connected to one another.

So this can go to "Not a bug"
