TL;DR
Allow the (left) circuit condition to be set by pasting from an item or fluid container. What ?
Using the Copy/Paste Entity Settings feature (e.g. Shift-Left/Right Click), I propose we be able to:a)
Copy From: Tank or Fluid Wagon
Paste To: Any entity with a circuit condition (Station, Pump, Inserter, etc)
Result: The left hand side of the circuit condition is set to read from the signal corresponding to the fluid contained in the copied entity.
b)
Copy From: Chest or Cargo Wagon
Paste To: Any entity with a circuit condition (Station, Pump, Inserter, etc)
Result: The left hand side of the circuit condition is set to read from the signal corresponding to the most prevalent item contained in the copied entity.
Why ?
I find a common operation I perform is to set a station or pump to be active via the circuit network based on a comparison to some item amount. The slowest part of this operation is selecting the circuit signal I want to compare against, particularly when playing with item heavy mods. The search feature helps some, but is still slow since it involves me having to move my hands from mouse to keyboard. The copy-paste feature seems ideal for speeding this up.Open Questions
Should pasting to combinators work as well? It's unclear to me, since in the case of a combinator you are much more likely to want to set the right side of a condition to another signal (rather than just a number, the more common case for entities I mentioned above).Should copying from pipes work as well?
