If you copy with CNTR+C and but the result into the quickbar, it remains there until you q it and than it deletes permanently.
It shall either not be possible to put it into the quickbar or better be added into the inventory too when you put in in the hotbar.

Fixed in Version: 0.17.38.
When a temporary blueprint(e.g. blueprint from copy) is placed in the quickbar, the blueprint won't be destroyed when clearing the cursor and instead moved to the inventory.

I was exploiting the temporary save to quickbar to allow me to edit a copy before pasting. I could Ctrl-C, place in quickbar, right-click to edit, then paste. I guess now I have to actually take a blueprint, and delete it afterwards. Any other way to modify a Cut or Copy?

You can hold shift while copying to open the blueprint editing dialog.
