So, this might be an issue with the mod "BeautifulBridgeRailway", but I thought I'd post this here since it might not.
This mod permits track to be built upon water.
I'm playing a Ribbon World game, and I was building track along the bottom edge when I by accident built track off the edge of the map. I was curious if I could drive my train there as well. As seen by the picture, both of these were possible.
In a funny moment, (it was a multiplayer stream), I tried to get out of the train to see what would happen. Fortunately, it wouldn't let me. Anyway, here's a screenshot of the moment and I'll link the stream video as well.

[0.17.38] Built track out of the world
Re: [0.17.38] Built track out of the world
Thanks for the report.
This is not a bug in the base game.
It is either issue with the mod, or maybe the mod even intended this behavior.
If it is not intended behavior, the mod should set rail collision mask to collide with "floor-layer" or "object-layer" or both. (Vanilla rail collision mask is { "object-layer", "item-layer", "floor-layer", "water-tile" })
(The video is pretty funny, though; Also thumbs up for saving to new file)
