Hi there,
It appears that if you place two inserters one in front of the other and inbetween a conveyor belt, one will always win the chance to collect the payload from the belt and the other one seems to trigger the pickup animation and then it cancels it before it's finished. Maybe trigger the animation only when it's known that the payload belongs to the entity?

It isn't known whether or not an inserter will have an item to pick up until it actually reaches and grabs the item. Sure, it may be possible to do the math to figure it out beforehand, but how will that affect UPS/FPS?
