Highlighting of rail-blocks

Post by JoshLittle »

I think I understood the block model of the train signals, but as I worked out my train station with some overlapping rails sometimes I didn't understand why something was not working even if I checked every signal step by step. Sometimes some signals reacted when a train was in a block that should be another block (= I had placed a signal to cut the only connection between the blocks with a signal) and sometimes signals didn't react even if a train was driving beside it.

So it would be helpfull to have some kind of highlighting of the existing blocks. Maybe if the signal is on the mouse to be placed, the background of the rails in the block the signal will split should be highlighted. Just like the background of the pole supporting area, just in the shape of the rails.

Pro tip: I use the debug mode for such tasks. To see blocks. But yes, it should be visible in game. :)
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
