[0.17.31] Inserter -> splitter not working correctly

when directly insterting into a splitter, the splitter won't split ( at all )
( inserting into the splitters back doesn't work as usual - inserting into it's side works just fine [ as shown in the screenshots ] )

Thanks for the report.
In the second screenshot, inserter is inserting it to front of the splitter (vanilla inserters output to far side of a belt), therefor to output of the splitter not an input.

it does make sense ( inserter insterting on the far side ) while i do think to remember it worked before..
guess I just never noticed that changing until now

Yeah I started playing in 0.16 and remember that putting things into a splitter would still allow it to be split to either side, but now it doesn't... maybe when they fixed the compression/throughput of the belts they "fixed" whatever was allowing this to happen. I think having to put the item on the belt BEFORE it enters the splitter makes more sense anyways so its good they fixed it
