Bot Capacity Change

Post by yordi21 »

i love the bot's BUT how they are currently they are hard to get a right request amount...what i mean by that i that when i request 1 item and i have capacity research bonus +3 so that they can carry 4 items they will not give 1 item BUT 4 item's witch is somewhat annoying... especially when you want to have an outpost with ONLY those item's ... i'm currently in the processes of trying to make do with logic but i cant seem to find a right solution to the problem. this won't affect most player's but would be a nice little change and probably won't take long to solve...

If I am not mistaken, at least in 0.16 (not sure about 0.17), when bots deliver to the player, only requested amounts are delivered. However, when delivering to requester chests, they always take a full load, so that a bot with a capacity of 4 will always try to take 4, even if only 1 was requested.

In my opinion, this behavior is meaningful, because players generally don't want to get more items than requested, because that will likely cause them to use additional inventory space, but with requester chests, it is more imporant that bot traffic is minimized.

However, I agree that it may be nice to be able to override this behavior.

on this idea i have a possible solution ... and that would be that you could set the robot stack size 1 -> 4 in the logic network ,this would probably be done in the roboport's them selves that way you could have a network for 1 stack size and 1 for 4 stack size... this would solve his i think
