Some people have asked about having planets named after them and Patreon benefits so I put some details in the first post.

Here's another structure nearly done.

You are still missing the dust/rust layer.
I think angel does a great job of designing structures. It's so difficult to get things that fit the right shape but look different from one another. I find all my good ideas go into the first 10 and the rest struggle to find their identity.

Dirt and rust are hand-painted on after rendering. It takes a long time but is often faster than trying to do it with textures. It also means that rust patterns are not repeated. Even the wires are painted on sometimes.

Might be a bit strange question - but do you thing RSO will be needed/useful for your mod?

It's a really cool idea and if you want some integration with RSO I can help with that.

I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure it won't be required, but I would like to make sure the mods work together so if there are problems with that I'll ask for help.

I'm just trying to get it working on its own first. It probably won't break if both are installed, but I don't think they will work well together trying to do some similar things in completely different ways.

Why did you change from single layer to multiple layers? I thought that was an awesome idea.

It looked cool on the map, and it was funny to fall to your death, but in terms of actual gameplay it didn't add much. When weighing that against the incredible number of unresolved issues it caused, I couldn't justify it. It would take way to long to make a releasable version, and potentially mean that the mod would never be finished.

Ah. Well, when you go to other planets, or satellites, is there a void still at least? And are the separate worlds finite and small?

Yes all planets and moons end after a certain radius, then there is void. It still looks like a planet when you zoom out. Planets are really really big. Moons are much smaller.

Thanks, I'm really trying to make make the graphic look like they belong in the game.

Idea
so that it would be possible to send people resources from the station, and help restore the Earth, and then receive resources from the Earth, in the form of weapons or products.

Closed testing is starting now. Testers are requested to test specific things. Saves may break between versions so I'm keeping the testing group small, as such there are a limited number of spaces. Priority goes to patreon supporters and people willing to invest more time over the weekend.

The version on the mod portal is NOT the testing version. The mod portal version still only has some icons.

You can build spaceships that you can run around in. You can flay spaceships between star systems, land spaceships on planets or anchor to space platform.

Please, put this thread in Reddit with all the images, you would get lots of patreons, this mod is just amazing, no words for that work dude. No doubt you deserve help from community and people like you make Factorio an epic game.

I'm going to wait until there's a publicly testable version before doing that. Testing is going quite well, so maybe in a week.
