[0.17.16] Invalid value "false" of TextureCompression on startup

I run factorio on a Laptop and host factorio headless on LAN (Steam version, via command line startup headless).

However, I try to keep my versions updated. On update x.16, I couldn't rund my batchfile

... so I ran the client version, and it failed to start (no loadingscreen), with the error message

Invalid value "false" of TextureCompression

So I figured, there was an error on a config file, so I asked the Factorio Discord where I instantly got the path, and have al look at the config file

where I just commented the last line - so i added a " ; "

Additional info:
I have no mods running, neither on clients which connect to the laptop nor on the laptop itself - nor did i fiddle with any of the files since 0.17.x.
So it seems to me, that somehow that update to 0.17.16 may caused that bug - oddly enough, that did not happen to my PC / other devices.

I'm also getting a pop-up that says 'Error: Invalid value "false" of TextureCompression' when I open the game.

I run Factorio on my laptop, and follow the latest experimental beta branch on Steam. I get the error both when I'm running my usual mods, and when I delete the contents of my mod folder in AppData.

I looked in my config.ini file (in AppData), but I couldn't find any line saying "texture-compression=false". The only result I found when searching the file for "texture-compression" is the following lines, but they appear to be commented out.

Edit: I had posted this after restarting Steam and re-installing Factorio, and finding that the bug persisted. After having restarted Steam a second time though, it appears that the bug is gone.
