For some reason my 4x4 splitter balancer (with 3 input lanes used and 3 output lanes used) was not giving full output despite full input.
Issue seems to be fixed when a downstream splitter is removed and replaced

Save attached (still has the balancer with 3 inputs and 4 outputs, but top one can be removed to give the same conditions as the gif

This is probably just this old thing -

Re: [0.17.14] Balancer splitter throughput stuttering
Actually, I'm pretty sure I was wrong there. Now I think there is something funky up with the splitters.
With the following setup, I'm getting frequent mini gaps in the output belt. It sort of seems like the splitter is still doing it's thing based on the old belt speed.

Re: [0.17.14] Balancer splitter throughput stuttering
I think there is something wrong too.
I have a long series of splitters with a priority set to the bottom like this:
All belts and splitters are the same speed (grey with speed 12.5 from Bobs). The first splitter is an overflow walve that should only output something at the top if items back up. The splitter chain consumes all the goods it gets and with one belt going in everything should go to the bottom. Still every now and then I see items output at the top.
Having belts and splitters at different seeds or out of sync on ticks would explain that. Every now and then the spitter tries to output the next item but the bottom belt hasn't moved yet.

Code: Select all
-|---------------------------- something comes out here
|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|--|- nothing comes out here
|- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- everything going down is consumed

This is the only kind of bug in this thread I could identify as reasonable, so it is fixed for 0.17.16ColonelSandersLite wrote: Sun Mar 17, 2019 9:04 am Actually, I'm pretty sure I was wrong there. Now I think there is something funky up with the splitters.
