What happened is that I called my personal train to my location, a single locomotive with no real stops, via the temporary station thing. Then promptly got in and set a new temporary stop just as the timer ran out on the first stop. I don't know if it was the exact same time or a little before the 5 second timer ran out.
It looked like that when the timer expired and it should have removed the first temporary stop and set off for the second stop the game crashed instead.
