[0.17.11] [Headless Server] Server tries to migrate map without need

Since my friend was running a headless server (which works normally without issues on 0.17.11), but he wanted me to generate a world for him and send it over since he couldn't figure out how to manage settings of world gen on the headless.

- So I generate it in 0.17.11, save it on the same version, send the zip, he places it into the save, the server is on 0.17.11.

However when I try to join it, it says:
"Cannot load downloaded map: Trying to apply migration 2017-04-26_Factorio_0.15.3.lua (Base Mod) while joining multiplayer game."

The server ran into this issue, and the work around was to change the name of the migrations folder to something else in the actual factorio files both on client and server.

Possible bug? I don't know if it applies to all versions, or just something with v17.x

There are probably stale files on the server install. Wipe it clean (the game server, not the whole server) and reinstall from scratch.

It was a fresh install for 0.17.11 for today.

This does sound like similar issues I've seen posted previously, where the problem was indeed stales files after an upgrade. In those cases, the new files were copied over the old, rather than completely clearing the old installation before copying the new files.

Edit: Small correction to the version mentioned: 0.17.11 - Still experimental "alpha" game; hasn't hit v1.0.0 yet, etc.

I know there can't be stale files in his server, as this was his first time downloading and running a factorio server for his new machine (he had one previously on a different machine, but didn't transfer it)


Also I fixed all my version numbers, sorry for that!

Thanks for the report - this error means the *client* has stale files not the server.

But that might be true, but when a fresh install of 17.11 server was installed, although I don't have the exact logs (I'll find them), It was attempting to do the same when trying to load the save. When my friend changed the name of migrations in the server, it properly loaded the save. He and I could not load into the server until we did the same. Do the experimental server builds have stale files?
