Standing roughly in the middle of these power poles and zooming in all the way causes the wire to disappear. Also happens to green/red circuit wires between the poles.

Existed for a long time, either Minor or Won't Fix; it would require doing a lot of computational work to determine what wires would actually be visible on the screen, and such solutions would probably grow in at least quadratic time with modded wire lengths.
