0.17.x - Crash upon save.load games & Steam API not working

Hey All,

Having some strange issues when updating to 0.17 that I'm hoping someone can help with.

First (and major) issue: I cannot save or load (saved) games. I get the following error: last_write_time(p): invalid argument: operation not permitted.

This happens in any version of 0.17 but does not happen in any prior version, including 0.16.52, where save games function as normal. Log attached (I think? Also spoilered below).

Also having another issue with the Steam API not loading - this also doesn't occur in any prior version of Factorio.

Edit: first time using the forums so apologies if things are missing or not attached correctly.

Additional info that may be useful: system build is windows 10 x64, fully up to date including 1803 update. Steam is also on the latest build, check for updates in steam says I am using the current version. I7 cpu, lots of hard drive space, and the game is installed in the default \program files\steam directory.

I also get the one line of green pixels at the bottom and right side of factorio in 0.17 - this is not present in 0.16 and prior. I have attempted to turn off steam overlay which has no effect on this.

I have also reinstalled the game, along with different variations, several times, as well as steam, and I’m at a loss as to what to do at this point. Traveling through the forums has not yielded any solutions which work for me so far.

If there’s any other info needed, please let me know and I’m happy to provide same as required.
