I tried to find something similar on the forums and did not, but i still hope this is not a repost.
I love watching speed runs of this game, and I feel like the sporadic and random placement of buildings/items in blueprints is a large limiter in run times. An entire smelting section can be offline for extended periods of time due to 1 belt, inserter or power pole that was unfortunately randomized to be placed last.
I would like to suggest a slightly enhanced robo build order when placing blue prints.
The new blueprint interface would have a "build order" option where one could select, say, belts to be constructed first, to buffer materials, then the robots would complete the rest of the blue print from left to right or top to bottom or something like that. If two blue prints are placed, it would queue temporally also. So if i placed a power expansion and science expansion then it wouldn't start the science until the power was complete. This would also be contingent on available supplies, so if something was missing, bots would continue to build everything else. There might also be an option to "join queues" - that is, if i made a very large blueprint in modules and extended it 1 tile at at time until it was the size i wanted, I could select the entire ghost set and click a button to join the queue, which would remove the temporal place in queue, moving all priority to belts and then left to right again. ..if that makes any sense..
Again, not sure if this has been suggested already, but I think it would add a strategic dynamic to blue print building and help bring those WR times down.
tl;dr wtb bots that build belt first then right to left.
Thanks for reading.
More robust blueprint/robo queue functionality.

I think this is very unlikely to ever happen, because of what the devs have explained in this topic : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=49429 (be sure to read it all).
