I have noticed similar behavior on my laptop. This is not specific to Factorio. When you put a computer to sleep only the main memory contents are kept. Everything in graphics memory is lost. As I understand it graphics driver on wake up will not or can not reinitialize texture memory so you get whatever garbage is there. This is not something I think devs can change without some convoluted suspend support from the OS. Just close the game. If you enable sprite cache it loads very fast.

Hello, we don't support he game running while PC goes into sleep mode. Either OS handles it by itself, or it just won't work.

I've not had any issues like this on Xubuntu 18.04 with AMD RX 470. ( What's your graphic card ?)

(Though I think that I've only used Sleep, not Locking (Which Sleep seems to do anyway) nor Hibernate.)
