Tutorial crash upon pressing shift+1 (0.17.0)

As title states, my game crashed when I pressed shift+1 (some hotkey for selecting a toolbar) during the tutorial.
There was no hotbar available at the point in the game, I purely pressed shift+1 to test what would happen.

Upon pressing, the game froze for about 20 seconds, then closed without warning or notification.
I can't seem to find an error log.
