Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Very nice idea:)
Sort of ran away with it and made this: so i could do this: Still dumb, but stackable dumb

LOL!
Your's is a bit faster then the original.

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Made some adjustments so it's stackable.
Still just as slow as it was. Or maybe 3 times faster .-

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Correct.
It's a proof-of-stackability, not actual production. we had a forumdiscussion a while ago about kovarex enrichment, and Trebor's Idea is a new approach.
You can find it here:

Made some adjustments; stackable and smaller.
Never realized that the new splitters have so much potential.

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Wow! That is tiny.
Re: Simple dumb Koravex
What is the advantage to using splitters instead of filter inserters?

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Picks up jaw, re-attaches to face.
7x3, tileable.
I do not understand how disentius desgin works (which tells me I have not grasped the true potential of the new splitters as well), but I feel it might be more tolerant to the startup phase as it priorizes 235 into its own, closed loop.
I really should finish Fallout 3 and see that I start a new factory...

@DaveMcW:
I am designing builds for a base:
- Substation grid aligned
- All factories fully beaconed
- All designs modular (e.g. stackable in both directions)
- Bot and belt versions of each
so i made this:
to be able to do something like this:
Your design is very elegant, as usual, but not modular enoughto fit easily in the substation grid.
PS.
Bots would be easier here, but where is the fun in that?
[edit2]
PPS. Final design will have some cirquit logic added to get rid of the feedback loop, but this will work.

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
For a very simple circuit design I like this:
https://youtu.be/o2Taa04Qrw8?t=70
No combinators needed. Just wires two inserters to a small stretch of belt and outputs the excess. It's not self-feeding and needs to be primed at the start, but after that it works nicely

Aaaand ofcourse i'm wrong.
Dave's design, beaconed and grid aligned.

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Anyone else had the back of their head asking if the title of this thread was about the guy?
Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Nope.
Trebor's idea of using splitters was a new thought, so a new Kovarex variation for me. Awesome!
And I knew of Dave's design, But hadnt really used in a build yet.
[EDIT]
And the only (simple) one i found which doesn't get stuck when stacked, be it backpressure or starving input, without circuit logic.

Re: Simple dumb Koravex
Hi, as suggested by disentus, I'm adding my contribution.
My version don't use splitters but circular scheme instead. You can start with only 1 Kovarex, then 2, then 4, etc. entirely modular.
Currently I'm using bots, but you can use belts to add uranium (the u-238 is kinda useless once launched).
The maximum increase in speed is 500%.
It's much more simpler than using splitters IMO.
