Smart inserter output control

Right now we have upgrade for inserters to increase items amount they can move. But not alway we need that, sometimes we need downgrade some inserters.

For example, we have upgrade and inserters can move 5 items at once. We need 12 items in furnace and in chest we have 14 of them. Right now inserter will put 5+5+4 items into furnace, 12 will be melted and 2 remain. That remaining 2 items are blocking furnace and we can't melt different items. We can't control that with logistic and we can remove remaining items only manually.

What i propose is to add feature to set amount how many items smart inserter can move at once. It can be added into logistic slots where we're choosing items to move.

Which recipe requires 12 items in a furnace?

Edit: I think you can use wires and a smart chest to solve this problem, regardless.
