Newly explored areas have discontinuities in terrain that don't look good.
Notes (not sure if any of them matter):
-I'm using Steam version (not sure about version number, but I installed it maybe a couple of weeks ago)
-I don't have a GFX card, just use the Intel onboard graphics
-The game has been played over multiple saves

That is not a graphics issue, you loaded a game that was created with a different version and map generator.

Re: Terrain discontinuities on newly-explored territory
Oh, I see. That's seems possible, because my daughter had a non-Steam version installed once upon a time, and I just installed the Steam version. I'm pretty sure I made a new map when I started playing, but I could see there were some saved games already.
I've explored around my entire original territory. Should I expect subsequent territory to be contiguous from now on? Or is it necessary to start a new map again? (I've played about 100 hours on this one).
If it won't happen any more, then it's actually kind of a cool effect. I can build a big wall around the original territory and pretend it's a big biter park or something.![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

You will get one edge around your previously explored area, that's it.

Thanks so much for your help. Except for a couple spots in the corners, the original territory is almost a perfect rectangle. Biter Park it will be. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
