Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
Is it just faster? Are there any items that require 6 ingredients? Why would the devs say “can craft items that require up to 6 ingredients” if there aren’t any items that require 6 ingredients?
Re: Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
refineries and when im right it has better energy to production rating and or less pollution
oh right they need only 5 ingredients ok i better leave now

Thanks , but seriously, 5? Does that look like 6 to you? Drop and gimme 20!dog80 wrote:refineries and when im right it has better energy to production rating and or less pollution

Re: Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
Nobody mentioned the fact they accept twice as many modules over AM2s. That's double the productivity modules!
EDIT: Also, the satellite takes 6 ingredients.

Re: Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
Recipes, that consumes a lot of resources per second, productivity modules in assembling machine 3 and speed modules in beacons have a great synergy
Re: Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
The improved speed and the additional module slots are critical for mega factories and performance.
In my experience with large bases the majority of comutation time is taken with "entity updates" which is directly proportional to the number of entities you have (inserters, assemblers, etc.). As a consequence, a single assembler3 with productivity modules and a number of beacons & speed modules can count for as many as 15 assembler2's without them.
This reduces the entity-update computations to less than 10% of the same factory without them.
In the case of my current mega-base, that translates from a FPS/UPS of < 25 to an FPS/UPS of > 50.

Re: Purpose of Assembly Machine 3’s
Sattelites, Refineries, neither can be done in 2s. And they have 4 module slots and are faster, so save space, can use less power, be hilariously fast, or produce a good 40% more stuff per stuff. (with beacon support)
Expensive, not useful immediately, but they are quite powerful.
