I think I accidentally overwrote Freeplay scenario
Ok so what happened is i got some new mods for the game and i opened map editor to see the new items and whatnot, and now when I try to create a new game, I think just loads the map I messed around I no map editor, I think It might have something to do with "Save & play" thing and somehow saved over the freeplay scnerio but that Seems very unlikely. But I have no internet on my pc so I cant uninstall and reinstall so please help me or tell me how to fix this. Thank you.

Which version are you using? It looks like a bug fixed in 0.16.44.
If you have steam version, try to verify integrity of game files. Otherwise... Well, reinstall will be easiest solution probably, though in fact you only need original data/base/scenarios/freeplay.

Unzip this and replace factorio/data/base/scenarios/freeplay and it should be fixed.

If he's on an outdated version that might also break it even more.Jap2.0 wrote:Unzip this and replace factorio/data/base/scenarios/freeplay and it should be fixed.

Maybe? It doesn't mention the version, and I don't think the formatting or anything has changed since 16.36 (which I presume is what he broke it in).eradicator wrote:If he's on an outdated version that might also break it even more.Jap2.0 wrote:Unzip this and replace factorio/data/base/scenarios/freeplay and it should be fixed.

Why not just update to the latest version instead of keeping the outdated one? That will also prevent it from happening again.Kamerad_Kiwi wrote:Version 0.16.36 Steam, Im not sure how this couldn't happen Ibut thx, I'll make sure to download that file as soon as I can

So how did he manage to get it installed in the first place :)? The installer is <1G, just fetch an USB stick, go to a friend, download the zip, and carry it home.Velox wrote:eradicator wrote:Why not just update to the latest version instead of keeping the outdated one?? :)Kamerad_Kiwi wrote:But I have no internet on my pc so I cant uninstall and reinstall
@Velox...also hrng. Why do people remove the authors name from the quotes all the time, is that the new hype? It's frustrating to have to guess who wrote what. Unless you're just gonna say it's "too much effort", in which case don't bother to answer. /sigh
