"pipe-to-ground" channels

Post by sticklord »

Hi

I would like to have the 'pipe-to-ground' entities work the same way as the as the underground belts.

I released a mod where different pipe type won't be able to connect, but haven't found a way to bypass this yet.

Was hoping this was something you could consider if you're gonna rework the fluid system, a while were on that note, it's abit silly that underground pipes count as 2 no matter the length :)

Fairly sure in earlier versions of the game, a red UG belt would connect to a yellow UG belt, likewise a tungsten UG pipe would connect to an iron UG pipe.

However, in more recent times, I noticed that a tungsten UG won't connect to an iron UG.

Are you saying that in your configuration there, that the red belts are connecting, even though there's a yellow set between, but the iron pipes are not with the titanium set between?

Either both should, or neither should, not one but not the other.
Though, I can see why they put effort into making it work with belts, but not pipes, considering there's multiple types of belt in the base game, but only one type of pipe.

Yeah I see my image is abit misleading, but what i mean by is that the red belts connect, but the pipes connects to the closest underground pipe it finds.

And thats my take too on why it works for belts and not pipes.
